Vinayakan is a versatile Indian actor, once a renowned dancer, and a composer known for his work in Malayalam and Tamil cinema. His cinematic journey began with a brief appearance in the 1995 film "Maanthrikam," laying the foundation for a prolific career spanning various roles, including supporting, comedic, and leading characters.
In 2016, Vinayakan gained widespread acclaim and clinched the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for his compelling portrayal of Ganga in Rajiv Ravi's "Kammatipaadam." This milestone also marked his debut as a music composer. Noteworthy performances include Damodaran Unni in "Aadu - Oru Bheegara Jeevi Aanu" and Ayyappan in "Ee.Ma.Yau," which contributed significantly to the New Wave Movement in Malayalam cinema.
Recently, his role as Varman in Nelson Dilipkumar's "Jailer" alongside Rajinikanth garnered critical acclaim. His upcoming venture is "Dhruva Natchathiram: Chapter One - Yuddha Kaandam," helmed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. Before his film career, Vinayakan excelled as a dancer and led the troupe "Black Mercury," showcasing his expertise in fire dance. His musical prowess also extends to composing and singing, adding further dimensions to his multifaceted talents.
