Silambarasan Thesingu Rajendar, popularly known as Simbu or S.T.R., is a prominent figure in Tamil cinema, excelling as an actor, filmmaker, and musician. Born on February 3, 1983, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, he is the eldest son of renowned actor and director T. Rajendar. His journey in the film industry began at a young age, appearing in various films directed by his father before landing his first lead role in "Kadhal Azhivathillai" (2002), also directed by his father.

Silambarasan was born to T. Rajendar and Usha Rajendar, with siblings Kuralarasan and Ilakiya. Raised in a devout Hindu household, he developed a strong affinity for Lord Shiva. He pursued his education at Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School and later attended Loyola College in Chennai.
Film Career:
His career in films started in the early 1980s when he appeared as a baby in "Uravai Kaatha Kili," directed by his father. He continued to act in his father's films throughout the 1990s. In the early 2000s, he transitioned to lead roles with "Kadhal Azhivathillai" (2002), followed by notable films like "Manmadhan" (2004), "Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa" (2010), and "Vaalu" (2015). His performances in "Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa" and "Manmadhan" received critical acclaim.
Music Career:
Silambarasan is also recognized for his contributions to music in the Tamil film industry. He has sung over 90 songs for various composers, often collaborating with Yuvan Shankar Raja. Additionally, he has written lyrics for several of his songs. Notably, he released the non-film single "Love Anthem For World Peace and Love" in 2011, aimed at promoting global harmony.
