Neena Kulkarni is an accomplished actress, writer, producer, and director from Mumbai. She began her acting career in the 1970s on both the Marathi and Hindi stages. Mentored by Satyadev Dubey, she performed in notable plays like Adhe Adhure and Educating Rita. Her collaboration with Dr. Vijaya Mehta in Hamidabai Chi Kothi marked her long association with Marathi theatre. She won awards for her performances in Marathi films like Savat Maazhi Laadki and Shevri, and received accolades for her role in Bioscope. Neena's TV work includes Yeh Hai Mohabattein, and she appeared internationally in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
