The only filmmaker who is famous for giving wonderful joyrides in his movies and immortalising characters like Geet, Adi, Veer, Harleen, Meera, Jai, JJ aka Jordan, Veera, Mahabir, Ved and Tara. Most of his films gives a very good glimpse of life to the viewers and also give us serious travel goals as well.

1. Jab We Met 

Jab We Met was a joyride from Mumbai to Kota to Bhatinda to Manali then again Mumbai and finally Shimla to unite both Adi and Geet together. Imtiaz Ali also showed us the people from Bhatinda and their large extended family. The movie showed a huge glimpse of Punjabi culture ranging from their favorite foods, love for Bhangra and Baisakhi festival.

2. Love Aaj Kal 

Love Aaj Kal was a glimpse of modern ways of communicating and vintage ways of communicating when both the lovers talk to their heart's content. The streets in Delhi which were quite popular in the 1960s were shown here and the viewers couldn’t take their eyes off it. The best part of the movie was the black tea which was drunk in both the eras, the only difference was one was in kullad and the other was in a disposable one. The journey of the modern couple starts in London and moves to Delhi and San Francisco. The vintage edition is set in Delhi and Kolkata .

3. Rockstar 

Rockstar was one such movie which gave Ranbir Kapoor his stardom with his role as JJ aka Jordan, a troubled musician who tries to get his heartbroken many times with the same girl. The movie showed the glimpse of the Jat family and their lifestyle, college life in Delhi, a Kashmiri wedding, the scenic locales of Prague, Czech Republic and Verona, Italy.

4. Highway 

Highway was something different from Imtiaz Ali’s usual romantic tales, the movie revolved around a rich girl who gets kidnapped by a bunch of goons and they go from one state to another to evade from cops. The journey starts from Delhi to Rajasthan to Punjab to Himachal Pradesh to finally Kashmir where the beautiful landscape of the mountains are shown.

5. Tamasha 

Tamasha is the story which is actually inspired from his life and he has done very well by showing the scenic beauty of Corsica which is in France and Ved’s childhood pastime in Shimla where he used to spend five rupees at the Mall Road only to listen to a story from a gypsy who used to take him to a different world with his stories.
