She started out in the music industry at the age of 16 and started giving multiple chartbusters from the year 1999. She had no formal training in music but still she is regarded as the Mariah Carey of India.
There are many songs of hers which most of us can’t stop listening even now:
1. Dhoom Machale From Dhoom: The song which is a rage with most of the listeners even now. This song was always on the top of the charts since the day of the release. Despite many versions of the song, this song is still remembered.
2. Mehboob Mere From Fiza: This song was in the early stages of her career which she started out during her teens and this song managed to reach to the top, thanks to her voice which kept it lingering in our ears.
3. Beedi Jalaile From Omkara: Before Munni Badnaam Hui, this was a rage among the listeners, the song captures almost everything which is required to make the crowd dance with whistles. This one will never leave you ever again in your life.
4. Kaisi Paheli From Parineeta: The most popular song from the film Parineeta which had the legendary diva Rekha grooving to the number in a club and the best part is the music which is a perfect mix of jazz and Indianness. The song was popular at overseas when an Indian sang this song at the Danish version of Got Talent.
5. Sajna Ve Sajna From Chameli: The only song which won her multiple awards in various functions was this one which was filled with a lot of classical verses and a little bit of trance feeling in it. This one will surely bring out the best in you.
6. Bhaage Re Mann From Chameli: Another soulful number from the singer which was so hummable and melodious to listen which gave a glimpse of the protagonists of different personalities ie, one is a white collar guy undergoing depression and the other is a prostitute filled with optimism.
7. Desi Girl From Dostana: The song from Dostana which became famous only because of one person and that is Priyanka Chopra who cast her magic in this song and with Sunidhi’s voice this was a must-keep in the playlist.
8. Sheila Ki Jawani From Tees Maar Khan: This one was the heart and soul of the film which kept it igniting like anything. If you listen to it once, you will feel like listening to it over and over again because of its lyrics.
9. Aaja Nachle From Aaja Nachle: A dream come true for the singer who lent her voice to the legendary Madhuri Dixit on her comeback film which is remembered even now for the pulsating voice.
10. Navrai Majhi From English Vinglish: Another song for the late yesteryear diva Sridevi which was a typical Maharashtrian wedding song which got most of the girls dancing during the weddings. This was surely a treat to watch.
We need more from the artist to get us enthralled with her voice.
