1. The actor was born in Kumbakonam, Tamilnadu, he has four siblings in his family, he is married to Archana and they are blessed with two children namely Niharika and Arjun. 

2. He started out as an emcee in various functions when he was studying engineering from UVCE in Bangalore. He was mainly famous for that during his college days.

3. When he was hosting an event regarding the success of a film Sagara Sangamam, he had met the veteran film actor in the Indian Film Industry and that is none other than Padmashree Kamal Haasan. With whom he has associated in films like Rama Shama Bhama and Uttama Villain.

4. He had won the best actor for his 1995 hit film America America where he played the lead role of a devout patriot who comes to visit his friends in the United States. The film went on to run for a year in Karnataka and it was also the first Kannada film to release in the United States. The film later won a national award in the regional section.

5. Apart from acting, he is also talented in writing where he has written good scripts and also he has written stories for various films which have won accolades at major award ceremonies.

6. His best works  in the film industry like Hoomale, Amruthavarshini Aapthamithra and Sambhrama are well appreciated by the fans and the critics.

9. As mentioned in one point that he happens to be best friends with Kamal Haasan, actually he was the one who helped Kamal Haasan release Vishwaroopam in theatres all over Karnataka when the controversies started plaguing the release of the film.
