Mother monster claims her throne!
One of the first attendees to walk the Met Gala pink carpet this year was Lady Gaga, and after that, she just set the bar too high. It could be said that she turned The Met Gala into The Met Gaga, it was all about her. Who could have thought she would take camp to the next level, by changing into not one, two or three but four legendary outfits? It was all part of the grand theatrical performance she put together on the steps of Met. For this event, Lady Gaga opted for a costume by Brandon Maxwell, a legend who created those four iconic looks. It was also reported that she wore $ 2 millions worth of jewellery, all provided to her by Tiffany & Co.
Do not mistake Lady Gaga for just another attendee; she was a co-chair along with Serena Williams, Alessandro Michele (Gucci’s creative director), Harry Styles and Vogue’s creative director Anna Wintour. But given her sartorial choices, it is only befitting for someone like Lady Gaga to become a co-chair. After all, she could be coined for the Queen of Camp. From her dress made of meat to a mini Christmas tree as headgear, she did camp before anyone knew what it was. However, it is safe to say that like wine, Lady only gets better with age. Scroll down for must-see images: be it Lady in a black dress holding a black umbrella, or Lady putting on lipstick while her assistant sets her hair in a gorgeous pink dress. Honorary mention: the eye makeup that stood out in a crowd of thousands.
