Here is everything you need to know about Sandeep Singh:

1. Sandeep Singh was born in Kurukshetra, Haryana to Gurucharan Singh and Daljit Kaur, he also has an elder brother Bikramjeet Singh, who is also an expert in Hockey and plays for Indian Oil team.

2. Sandeep Singh debuted in the year 2004 in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Kuala Lumpur where he was mainly known for his flicker-style shots which were pretty popular in most of the games which actually prompted him to score multiple goals in various matches.

3. His career was going rock steady for two consecutive years until somebody casted an evil eye when he was accidentally shot on his back when he was heading to Delhi to meet his teammates when they were supposed to fly to Germany for the world cup. The bullet was hit on his backbone and there were no chances of survival and neither getting up as well. The worst part about it is that he was in the verge of giving up hope at the same time. 

4. With grit and determination, he managed to fight against all the odds. After getting motivated by heading to a rehabilitation outside India. He went in a wheelchair to the rehab but came back on his own legs back in India.

5. After getting back on his feet, he enlisted himself in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in the year 2009 conducted in Ipoh, Malaysia. After a successful victory, the team managed to qualify for the Olympics in 2012 held in London.

6. Now, Sandeep Singh is serving as the DSP of Haryana Police post his tenure as the hockey player for India.
