Morgan Freeman is the perfect translation of "Like fine win, gets better with age". H'es made it through all and now with his recent accusations, he's in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. Here's 10 good reasons to still resound why we love him.
1. Shawshank Redemption
A masterpiece of a movie of how two prisoners build a bond over many years of their life imprisonment sentences they served in the Shawshank Prison. This movie is a checkpoint in Morgan Freeman’s career as this marked the first time Morgan did a voice over narration throughout the movie. We see Freeman funny, wistful, depressed, thoughtful, and so much more as he owns every moment of the movie.
2. Invicticus
Morgan Freeman plays as Nelson Mandela. On the dawn of being elected as South Africa’s Prime Minister, he tries to bring together the apartheid stricken country to come together. He tries to bring home the Rugby World Cup with a team of men who have stood together even as apartheid was still in the air. Morgan Freeman was later complimented for his performance to characterise Nelson Mandela, even the accent with which he delivered dialogues.
3. Glory(1989)
The fight for glory was always in their eyes. They were slaves, and now soldiers. The troop of the 54th Massachusetts infantry was the first all negro regiment which was led by Col. Robert Gould their leader and probably only one who believed in them. The troop included Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington who played major roles which were pivotal to the movie and their career. This is Denzel's first movie which earned him an Oscar but Morgan too played an effective role.
4. Se7en
The serial killer thriller of 1995 starring Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman who play as two detectives who hunt for the serial killer who has seven deadly seven deadly sins as his motives. This movie will send a shiver through your spine. Envy, Lust, Greed, Pride, Wrath, Sloth and one more other sin which will leave you in suspense.
5. Gone baby Gone
The movie is a classic directed by Ben Affleck. The star casts include Morgan Freeman and Casey Affleck. Two detectives who rag pick every detail, evidence and suspect they could find in order to find a missing neighbourhood girl, Casey. A mind gripping movie which will drag you to watch to the every last detail. Morgan start from the onset of the story, as he narrates it.
6. Unforgiven
Unforgiven led by Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman won 4 awards at the Oscars.
7. Batman Triology
Fans go nuts over hearing that the next movie of Batman is coming. Morgan Freeman plays the role of Lucius Fox. Morgan plays very essential role which contributes to the success of the movie and its character so Christian Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne.
8. The Bucket List
‘Movies you would watch at some point of your life’ is the list that this movie that takes the top of the chart. A feel good movie of two men who make a bucket list of things they want to do before they “kick the bucket”. A quite movie where one wants the other to find that one thing in life that gives him genuine happiness.
9. Wanted 2008
Master, Teacher and Student of the fraternity of assassins played by Morgan Freeman, Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy. McAvoy learns that he has superpowers that he has inherited from his dad which he didn’t know. McAvoy’s father is killed and now his son has to fill up his shoes while Morgan Freeman teaches and shows him the abilities McAvoy never knew he had.
10. Ben-Hur
This is not just a re-adaption, but the fifth time the movie has been re-imagined of the novel Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ. Morgan Freeman plays as the rich Sheik who trains Ben-Hur to become a charioteer to take revenge against his brother.
