Sometimes spending money and marketing a movie is just not enough to do well at box office. Let’s see top 10 known movies which were Bollywood disasters in the year 2017 which performed way below expectation. #1 Tubelight: Budget: ₹135 Cr Gross: ₹211 Cr Net: ₹105.5 Cr (@50%) Tubelight Hindi Movie Tubelight was directed by Kabir Khan and Salman Khan was the lead in the film. The General notion of the film was “Bhai ko rote hue nahi dekh sakte”. #2 Jab Harry Met Sejal: Budget: ₹80 Cr Gross: ₹150 Cr Net: ₹75 Cr Jab Harry Met Sejal Jab Harry Met Sejal had Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma in the lead and was directed by Imtiaz Ali. The hype around the movie was huge but the content was not well received by the audience. #3 Jagga Jasoos: Budget: ₹131 Cr Gross: ₹84 Cr Net: ₹50 Cr Jagga Jasoos Producers of Jagga Jasoos spent a lot of money on graphics and marketing of the movie. The movie had Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor as the lead star cast. But it did not impress the audience and flopped at the box office. #4 Raabta: Budget: ₹33 Cr Gross: ₹26 Cr Net: ₹13 Cr Raabta A movie with urban feel in the first half and a lengthy flashback did nothing to increase the footfall. The movie stars Sushant Singh Rajput, Kriti Sanon in the lead. #5 Ok Jaanu: Budget: ₹27 Cr Gross: ₹41 Cr Net: ₹20 Cr Ok Jannu A loss of ₹7 Cr is ok when compared to other flops but the hype around the movie before the release makes this movie worth mentioning. Ok Jaanu was directed by Shaad Ali starring hit pair of Aashiqui 2 Aditya Roy Kapur, Shraddha Kapoor. #6 Rangoon: Budget: ₹80 Cr Gross: ₹46 Cr Net: ₹23 Cr Rangoon The reviews and box office opening were not impressive for Rangoon with lead cast Saif Ali Khan, Kangana Ranaut and Shahid Kapoor. As even word of mouth was not good, the movie failed to retain screens after a week. #7 A Gentleman: Budget: ₹40 Cr Gross: ₹38 Cr Net: ₹19 Cr A Gentleman Action movie “A Gentleman” starring Sidharth Malhotra, Jacqueline Fernandez in the lead, was slated to be a hit. But due to factors like floods and poor luck, audience decided to rather sit in house than watch the movie in theaters. #8 Noor: Budget: ₹24 Cr Gross: ₹11 Cr Net: ₹6 Cr Noor Poor timing of the movie release resulted in its sink at the box office without even anyone noticing it. #9 Begum Jaan: Budget: ₹20 Cr Gross: ₹19 Cr Net: ₹10 Cr Begum Jaan This Bengali remake starring Vidya Balan and other outstanding actors just did not entertain the audience. #10 Aa Gaya Hero: Budget: ₹13 Cr Gross: ₹2 Cr Net: ₹1 Cr Aa Gaya Hero Govinda’s comeback movie as a hero after several years in the making had no elements that could pull the audience to the theater.
