Come On India: A throwback video song of 1999 Cricket world cup which became a Cricket Anthem.
The song was released during 1999 world cup which was hosted by England. Let’s revisit that video again to set our excitement for this world cup which is also hosted by England (and Wales).
Indian Cricket Team is all set to fight for this world cup. The world cup is starting today and we wish our team, best wishes!
Here is a throwback video song which was released as a promotional video during 1999 cricket world cup which was also hosted in England.
The song was sung by Shankar Mahadevan.
The video starts with the cricket stadium surrounded in tension as the Indian team is about to lose and amidst of this chaos a young guy comes in between and cheers up the team by chanting Come on India, dikha do.
This video was inspired from the 1996 world cup when India was losing to Srilanka which was held in Eden Gardens, Kolkata and crowd turned violent and starting throwing bottles to which umpires decided to stop the match and declared Srilanka as the winning team.
The video gives us a nostalgic trip by showcasing some of the cricketing legends such as Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, and Anil Kumble and some of the forgotten faces Nayan Mongia and Ajay Jadeja.
