1. Vamshavruksha: The time when he debuted in the industry but not as a lead hero but as a supporting role in the film directed by Girish Karnad. He impressed everyone with his impeccable screen presence in the film.
2. Nagarahavu: The film where he was playing the lead role for the first time and the film was adapted from a famous short story of the same name. The film was a blockbuster hit and ran for almost a year in the theatres. Owing to the success, the film was re-released later this year.
3. Suprabhata: The film which was a deadly combination of romance and suspense had Vishnuvardhan playing the lead role. The film was widely appreciated for strong content and also won awards as well.
4. Yajamana: The film took inspiration from a portion of Ramayana which involved the story of four brothers who are brought up in a conservative household and how the elder brother sacrifices everything for his brothers.

The film happened to be the last film of Soundarya before she got killed in a tragic plane crash later that year.
7. Vishnu Vijaya: This film was the best of both worlds which had the Bollywood star, Akshay Kumar, playing the second lead in the film. The film was quite popular for its intense action and edge-of-the-seat suspense. The film was also remade in Hindi with Akshay Kumar in the lead.
8. Aptharaksha: The sequel of Apthamitra which was released two months after his demise, the film fetched a lot of awards at various award functions. The fans thronged at the theatres to watch the film.
