He is a RJ, VJ, an actor, a singer and a composer too. Whoa! Looks like the soul of Kishore Kumar has managed to find space in this young lad who is the new face of Indian cinema. The lad is none other than Ayushmann Khurrana who has a very good track record in the last six years and still counting.

Ayushmann Khurana: From A Punjabi Puttar To A Film Star

Here is a little something of his journey which most of us are quite aware of:

1. He gained limelight at the age of 17 as he was seen in most of the auditions of reality shows and in some cases he was actually getting rejected most of the time. The actor finally auditioned for the second season of MTV Roadies and finally won it.

Roadies

2. After a stint with Roadies, he was quite popular in Radio with his shows Maan Na Maan Main Tera Ayushmann, Big Chai for Big 92.7 in Delhi. These shows won him the youngest achiever award in 2007.

3. Finally, he surfaced as a VJ (Video Jockey) for most of the popular shows on MTV like Wassup, Stripped, Fully Faltoo and Bakraa for that matter. He then started hosting India’s Got Talent, Award shows, Extraa Innings of IPL Season 3. His last anchoring job was for a dance show called Just Dance which had Hrithik Roshan as the judge, the show won him a lot of accolades at various award functions.

Hosting TV Shows

4. His first Bollywood film in 2012 was Vicky Donor which was a comical satire on sperm donation, the actor once stated that during Roadies, there was a task of donating sperms and that helped him in getting the character of Vicky Arora. After which he won the best actor in a debut role and the film was also a super hit. He had been seen doing mostly offbeat films like Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Bareilly Ki Barfi and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.

Film Career

5. Singing and Ayushmann Khurrana are a deadly combination as he has sung a lot of songs ranging from Pani Da, Mera Mann and other non-film songs which is just awesome for any person who is in love with the soul genre of music. Pani Da was quite a rage among the listeners.

6. For many aspiring actors who are looking for a break in Bollywood, Ayushmann had written a book called Cracking The Bollywood Code along with his wife Tahira Kashyap. The book explained about his journey towards fame and fortune.

Book Launch

Despite all the success, the actor is very humble and down-to-earth when it comes to dealing with it. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours. The actor has two films releasing back to back namely a neo-noir thriller Andhadhun and a satirical comedy Badhaai Ho.
