45 celebrities and their outfits at the met gala!

The first Monday of May is when the crème de la crème of the fashion industry clear out their social calendars and catch the flight to New York. The Met Gala is only the most coveted event of the year, and it is only when you get an invite that you know you have made it in life. Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of Vogue has chaired the event since 1995. The Met Museum is one that exhibits more than 5000 pieces of art. For the 2019 edition of the Met Gala, it was decided upon that the theme be ‘Camp: Notes On Fashion’. The co-chairs for this event include Alessandro Michele (Gucci’s creative director), Harry Styles, Lady Gaga and Serena Williams.  

This year’s Met Gala was possibly a difficult one to dress up for, with only a few celebrities who understood the true meaning of ‘Camp’. Even though some of the most prominent stars like Rihanna and Blake Lively were missing, other stars made up for their absence. Camp is all about putting on a show and ones who did were Lady Gaga who stripped down at the Met Steps, Billy Porter dressed up as an Egyptian ‘sun god’ and was carried in on a litter by six men, Zendaya and stylist Law Roach were dressed up as Cinderella and her fairy godmother who brought magic into the pink carpet. When it comes to feathers, take cues from Kendall Jenner, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Anna Wintour. Moschino creative director, Jeremy Scott turned Katy Perry into a magnificent chandelier and adorned Bella Hadid with too many jewels. Scroll down to see the 45 outfits at the red carpet.
