Review: A romantic comedy of errors set in a small town with an outrageous plot makes for a fun premise. Director Laxman Utekar’s directorial venture delivers on this account for the most part. Zara Hatke Zara Bachke promises to be a laugh riot as soon as the viewer is introduced to Kapil Dubey (Vicky Kaushal), his wife Saumya Chawla Dubey (Sara Ali Khan), and their joint family. All hell breaks loose when the pandit’s family accidentally eats a cake that contains eggs. As Kapil’s mami (Kanupriya Pandit) takes a jab at the Punjabi daughter-in-law for the fiasco, the latter puts her foot down that she wants to move out and away from the constant taunts. And thus begins the duo’s quest to buy a house, which proves to be a proposition they cannot afford.

In this quirky and humorous tale, Saumya and Kapil find themselves in a peculiar situation when they stumble upon a government scheme to acquire a flat. However, there's a twist: Kapil's family already owns a house, making him ineligible for the scheme. Enter Bhagwan Das, a dubious agent, who suggests a solution - Saumya can qualify for the women's quota if she divorces Kapil, and they can remarry once the home is allotted.

With this unusual plan in mind, the couple embarks on a comical journey, pretending to fight and create misunderstandings to convince their family and the judge that a divorce is necessary. As their charade unfolds, a love triangle adds another layer of chaos, and a nosy security guard, Daroga, further complicates matters.

The film takes the audience on a rollercoaster ride of laughter and misadventures as Saumya and Kapil navigate through this absurd situation. With a blend of comedy, mistaken identities, and quirky characters, the story promises an entertaining and light-hearted experience for viewers. Prepare to be amused by the hilarious antics and unpredictable twists that ensue as the couple tries to secure their dream home while maintaining their love and unity.

Vicky Kaushal shines in his portrayal of Kapil, effortlessly bringing to life the character of a small-town, frugal individual. He skillfully captures the essence of the penny-pinching guy, displaying his acting prowess. One standout moment is a scene at the hospital where Kapil and Saumya engage in a heartfelt conversation, and Vicky emotes with precision, evoking genuine emotions.

On the other hand, Sara Ali Khan may struggle to convincingly portray a middle-class daughter-in-law or a spirited Punjabi girl. However, the supporting cast compensates with their commendable performances. Neeraj Sood and Kanupirya Pandit excel as the maternal uncle and aunt, adding depth to their characters. Inaamulhaq, Rakesh Bedi, Harcharan Chawla, and Akash Khurana deliver strong performances as well, contributing to the overall quality of the film.

The music by Sachin-Jigar adds an extra layer of entertainment, with catchy songs that leave a lasting impact. Raghav Ramadoss's cinematography successfully captures the essence of Indore, effectively portraying the quirks and atmosphere of a small town.

Overall, the film presents a well-rounded package, with Vicky Kaushal's acting prowess, the strong supporting cast, catchy music, and effective cinematography capturing the essence of the story and the setting.
