In the wake of his father's (Ronit Roy) legacy, Arun Katyal (Sidharth Malhotra) follows his footsteps by joining the Yodha Task Force. His pivotal role during the Amritsar plane hijack, unfortunately, leads to the death of a passenger, resulting in the disbandment of the Yodha task force. Years later, Arun is confronted with another hijacking situation. However, suspicions arise among his former colleagues and the government, alleging his involvement in orchestrating the hijack as an act of vengeance for the dissolution of the Yodha Task Force. As the narrative unfolds, we delve into whether Arun is truly the antagonist depicted or if there are deeper layers to the story waiting to be uncovered.
Yodha Movie Review:
Yodha is a high-octane thriller that sets out to deliver an adrenaline-pumping experience, and largely succeeds in doing so. Led by Sidharth Malhotra's compelling performance, the film boasts gripping action sequences, a patriotic theme, and a thrilling plane hijack plot that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.
Sidharth Malhotra's portrayal of the protagonist is commendable, showcasing his versatility as an actor, especially in the jaw-dropping action sequences that are stylishly executed. Raashii Khanna delivers a standout performance, adding emotional depth to her character's dynamic, while Disha Patani shines in her impactful role as the charming air hostess.
Directors Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha deserve praise for crafting a genre-defining film with a unique story, fast-paced narrative, and heart-pounding cliffhangers. However, the film falters in its second half, with a confusing and tiring plot that hampers the overall impact. While the first half delivers thrills aplenty, the latter half suffers from an overdose of twists and sub-plots, leading to a disjointed experience.
Despite its flaws, Yodha remains a decent entertainer, buoyed by strong performances and razor-sharp fight sequences. The film's technical aspects, including the impressive cinematography and gripping background score, add to its appeal. However, the sub-standard VFX in the finale and illogical plot points detract from the overall experience.
In conclusion, Yodha offers a thrilling ride filled with action and suspense, but falls short of achieving greatness due to its convoluted second half. While it may not be a perfect film, it still warrants a watch, especially for fans of adrenaline-fueled cinema.
