Uri stars Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam in the lead. The movie is about surgical strike that happened in 2016 against Pakistan. It is based On True Incidents Of New India.
The film is about the surgical strike that took place in 2016 under new government.
In POK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) Indian army conducted an operation to kill 35-40 terrorist who were responsible for the death of 19 army officers in a terrorist attack in Uri.
Even when Pakistan denies the report, the truth remains exposed.
Director Aditya Dar clearly depicts the incidents that led to the surgical strike and succeeds in keeping the user engaged till the end.
Vicky Kaushal plays the protagonist Major Vihaan Singh Shergill who has carried the role of a Commando in a beautiful way and we need to fully appreciate how he has transformed from the role he played in Raazi.
10/10 for Vicky in this department.
The incident itself is engaging enough in the first place. The process from terrorists killing Indian Army officers to the mourning, the preparation for the attack and the actual attack, all these aspects of the incident is gripping enough and will keep you glued to your seat till the end.
All action sequence are realistic but still needs improvement when you compare it with movies like “Zero Dark Thirty”. The feel is present and get ready to get goosebumps on some occasions.
Music is apt and cinematography makes it more and more intriguing to watch. Yami Gautam has done full justice to her role.
Overall Verdict: The movie overall reminds you what the army goes through on daily basis and the real defeat is in us not supporting them. The movie is a must watch to have a feel of Indian Army in a realistic way.
