Review
Movie felt more like a Tv or Web Series, with each plot point as an episode. It lacked a common narrative between Scenes, which didn't contribute anything to the overall message film wants to convey or rather their is no message the film wants to convey only wants to Showcase the charisma of Balasaheb Thackeray. Film totally focusses on "What and How things happened?" in life of Balasaheb instead of "why things happened?"
The movie starts with Balasaheb (Nawaz) from a middle class background, who is leading a normal life with a 9 to 5 job, but is dissatisfied with the status of Marathi's in their own state. He starts-off with a magazine (Which was launched by the then chief minister, so much struggle!) and gets Great response, which gave birth to Shiv-Sena. Entire movie is a series of chapters that shows Rise of Marathi's, Babari Masjid Case, Hindu Muslim riots etc. Sanjay Raut's writing felt confusing, at places.
A stellar performance by the stalwart Nawazuddin Siddiqui with some very good crowd-pleasing dialogues, makes the movie watchable. Amrita Rao as Meena Tai is impressive. She has a limited scope but surely makes you remember her character.

Because of its excessive political infusion, the pace gets down at places. lack of too many masala dialogues, doesn't please its target audience as well. But, Nawaz somewhat holds the viewers till the end.
Verdict
Watch it for Nawaz! The informative aspect of the film, somewhere gets overshadowed by glorification. Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s superlative performance will be remembered as one of his best.
