He is thrilled to have found a groom for his daughter Jyothi (Amrutha Prem) and to celebrate the outcome, Pandappa sets out to sacrifice a male sheep, a promise he made to the local deity long back. As the villagers gather, a bunch of surprising events take place and take the story in an entirely different direction.
Review: "Tagaru Palya" is a delightful rural comedy film. Paandu (Rangayana Raghu) prays to a local deity that he will offer her a sheep as a sacrifice and organise a meat feast for the villagers if he can find a ‘city boy’ to wed his only daughter, Jyothi (Amruta Prem). As Paandu finalises Jyothi’s wedding with a software engineer from Bengaluru (Vasuki Vaibhav), he invites villagers and his in-laws for the feast. However, the film takes an unexpected turn, leading to a series of hilarious and emotional events. The story unfolds in a single day, within a single location, and is praised for its tight narrative.
Rangayana Raghu steals the show with his unique mannerisms and witty dialogue. The cast, including Nagabhushana, Amrutha Prem, Tara, Vasuki Vaibhav, Sharath Lohitashwa, and Chandrakala, is commended for their impressive performances. The actors successfully balance comedy with emotional scenes.
Vasuki Vaibhav's music, combined with Dhananjaya's lyrics, is well-received. The song 'Sambanja annodu' at the end of the film is highlighted for its perfect encapsulation of the movie's essence.
The film's blend of exotic quirkiness and rural realism is commendable. The rural setting is portrayed realistically, capturing both the glory and shortcomings of life in a village. The film successfully conveys the importance of relationships and emotional ties. "Tagarupalya" is a well-knit film that appeals to family audiences. It also takes you on a nostalgic trip to your native village.
In total, "Tagarupalya" is a heartwarming and humorous film that balances comedy and emotion effectively. It resonates well with audiences, offering a glimpse into rural life while delivering a memorable cinematic experience.
