Rohit Shetty returns with a bang in Singham Again, bringing Bajirao Singham (Ajay Devgn) to a whole new level in his action-packed cop universe. The stakes are higher, the characters are bigger, and the story has a refreshing Ramayana-inspired twist that adds depth to this otherwise explosive action drama.
The plot follows Singham as he is transferred to Jammu & Kashmir as SSP of the Special Operations Group. The location itself sets up intense encounters, with Singham facing off against militants and, ultimately, the menacing terrorist Omar Hafiz (Jackie Shroff). Omar’s grandson, Zubair Hafiz, aka Danger Lanka (Arjun Kapoor), seeks revenge, bringing in high stakes by abducting Singham’s wife, Avni (Kareena Kapoor Khan), and challenging Singham to release Omar, all while threatening the other heroes—Sooryavanshi (Akshay Kumar) and Simmba (Ranveer Singh). The showdown is nothing short of epic as the trio bands together to outwit the villain and save Avni.
This fifth installment of Shetty’s cop universe is larger-than-life, with an incredible cast lineup and meticulously choreographed action sequences. Ajay Devgn commands the screen as Singham, delivering an intense performance that reminds us why this character has become iconic. Arjun Kapoor shines as the ruthless Danger Lanka, arguably delivering one of his best performances, while Ranveer Singh’s energetic Simmba provides a dose of humor and charm, blending seamlessly with Devgn’s intensity. Akshay Kumar, in a cameo, brings his trademark swag, and Tiger Shroff’s action-packed role adds youthful vigor. While Deepika Padukone’s Shakti Shetty is a standout for her magnetic presence, her accent and character placement feel somewhat out of sync with the otherwise well-paced storyline.
One of the film’s strongest aspects is how Shetty integrates a Ramayana theme, re-imagining the classic tale’s elements into a modern action spectacle. Each character’s entry is grand and memorable, with cleverly orchestrated sequences that ensure no one’s presence fades into the background. However, some parts, particularly Deepika’s, may feel slightly out of place.
The background score amplifies the high-energy drama, enhancing the intense action scenes and giving audiences those exhilarating, whistle-worthy moments. With its grandeur, dramatic entries, and well-timed comic relief, Singham Again is the kind of blockbuster experience that delivers exactly what it promises: an entertaining Diwali treat packed with adrenaline, thrills, and camaraderie.
