Powder storyline: Soorya (Diganth) works at a supermarket in Mysuru, and he shares a room with Karan (Anirudh Acharya). Soorya is trying to woo back his ex Nithya (Dhanya Ramkumar), a nurse. The trio learns about the presence of drugs worth crores stuffed inside talcum powder containers inside Soorya’s store. They decide to turn rich overnight by selling the drugs, and that brings them into confrontation with drug dealer Annachi (Rangayana Raghu) and his rival Sulemaan (Gopalkrishna Deshpande). The drug racket has an international connection, with a drug lord from China calling the shots.
Powder Movie Review: Powder offers a quirky and engaging mix of humor, suspense, and unexpected twists that keep the audience entertained throughout. The film centers around a large shipment of illegal powder, meant for distribution by Annaji (Rangayana Raghu) in Karnataka, which goes mysteriously missing and is replaced by ordinary talcum powder. This error sets off a chain of events that disrupts Annaji's operations and brings the wrath of Jeev's, a Chinese dealer, into play.
The narrative unfolds with two carefree bachelors, Surya (Diganth) and Karan (Anirudh Acharya), who stumble upon the opportunity to get rich by tracking down the missing powder. Their journey, along with Nithya (Dhanya Ramkumar), a nurse who catches Surya’s eye, takes them through various parts of Mysuru. As they navigate through these situations, they cross paths with Mallika (Sharmiela Mandre), who is on her own mission to recover the lost powder.
Director Janardhan Chikkana returns with a film that successfully blends humor and suspense. While the first half of Powder takes its time to set up the story and includes some uneven pacing, the second half makes up for it with an engaging plot that picks up momentum and introduces unexpected twists.
The film's strength lies in its ensemble cast. Nagabhushan stands out as Dr WHO (as the spoof of a popular Kannada YouTuber), delivering a performance that adds significant comedic value to the film. Sharmiela Mandre impresses with her action sequences, while Dhanya Ramkumar and Diganth share great chemistry that brings warmth to their scenes. The supporting cast, including Anirudh Acharya, Ravishankar Gowda, Rangayana Raghu, and Gopalkrishna Deshpande, also contribute strong performances that elevate the overall quality of the film.
Powder wraps up with a climax that suggests the possibility of a sequel, leaving the audience intrigued for more. It packs all the right ingredients for a light-hearted, comic entertainer, making it a perfect choice for a fun-filled weekend watch. Whether you're looking for laughs, suspense, or just a good time, Powder delivers.
