Nishabdham is a so-called thriller which tries too hard to be a revenge thriller but turns to be a lame film with weak writing and direction.
The film opens in a haunted villa where two characters are killed mysteriously and nobody knows who’s responsible. Ideally, this scene should have scared the living daylights out of the viewer and set the mood for the film. Unfortunately, it’s one of the blandest opening scenes and it has very little to no impact whatsoever. Many years later, Madhavan (Antony) and his Anushka (Sakshi) visit the same villa in search of a very special painting where something terrible happens and what follows forms the crux of the story.
The film start is promising though shot in a shabby way still it holds your attention to the film's second half and climax is senseless and bizarre that the audience will literally be nishabdham.
The film is set in the US, Seattle and they cast Hollywood actor Michael Madson who is known for working with Quentin Tarantino in films such as Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill is doing bad acting in this film. This film is proof that not only Hollywood cast foreign actors in a bad film, the opposite can also happen. And for some weird reason, the actor's voice is also dubbed which is the final nail in the coffin. The location of the film doesn't justify why the story is taking place there if the film was shot in India at least the producers would have saved some money.
Even the actors couldn't be the saving grace. R Madhavan who never disappoints with his performance even in a bad film does mockery of himself in this film. This is his worst film to date. Anushka Shetty was clueless about what she was doing. The most annoying acting was done by Shalini Pandey whose character was lamest.
Overall, Nishabdham is a badly written thriller which should have not been at first place and should be skipped or else you will be Nishabdham by seeing this mess.
