Christopher Movie Review : Typical cop movie showcasing a stylish protagonistModified On: 13 February 2023 | Reviewed By: Team Moviekoop
Storyline: Christopher is the story of a maverick, vigilante cop who is forced to transgress the limits of the law when the system fails. It weaves across past and present while unraveling the motives and moral bruises that shape his actions.
Review: Mammootty starrer Christopher is a watchable movie with some redeeming elements. Someone like Mammootty, whose acting potential shined through in recent releases, had nothing much to do in this film. In Christopher Mammootty's stride and style keeps us awake and get us excited at some points. The first half is mostly engaging and keeps us interested in the titular character.
The entire first half is used mostly to tell us his background and in the second half, we can almost predict what will happen. The climax is nothing extraordinary. However, the roles played by Aishwarya Lekshmi and Amala Paul are lengthy, unlike the usual female characters, but could have been fleshed out well. The villain played by Vinay Rai was wasted as a character. Vinay's subtle performance could have held the plot up if only his villainy was defined better with more screen time and background.
Other than Christopher, every other character was ignored in the movie. Also, absolutely no one wants to see a series of gory rape scenes spread throughout the movie. Viewers can understand the gravity of the crime and injustice without forcing it. Justin Varghese's music adds to the moments Christopher shines on screen.
