Review: Champion, which marks the debut of Sachin Dhanpal, has all the commercial elements of love, romance, comedy and action. Siddhanth is a no-nonsense guy who minds his own business while living life to the fullest with his bunch of friends. His only aim is to represent the country at an international level. This is also his father's dream.
He falls in a love with a girl who is connected through a wrong phone call. Comic scenes of Chikkana, Girish Shivanna and Prasanth Siddi manage to tickle the funny bones. A sub-plot, in which a gang tries to supply fake currency notes to every nook and corner of the country, spices up the storyline. There are some nice romantic scenes too.
Champion offers predictable content which becomes clear from the opening scene. The treatment is very conventional and outdated and takes the steam out of the movie. The ensemble cast which includes Devaraj, Rangayana Raghu, Suman, Pradeep Rawat, Avinash, Adi Lokesh, Shobhraj comes in handy in lifting mundane sequences. An item song featuring Sunny Leone, though not at all connected to the story, is one of the highlights of the movie.
Newbie Sachin Dhanpal looks promising and has given his best. Aditi Prabhudeva as Sarika shines in her role. The movie could have been trimmed to keep it more pacier and edgy. Songs fails to strike the right chord. If you really like commercial movies, then you can watch this movie this weekend.
