‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ is directed by ace filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma portrays the life of the politician after his controversial marriage to Lakshmi Parvathy.
This is the season of Biopic and due to the coming soon Lok Sabha election, creators are trying to encash by producing films on known political personalities.
Films like ‘Yatra’ based on former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and NTR’s biopic N.T.R: Kathanayakudu and N.T.R: Mahanayakudu completely whitewashed the controversial chapters of these personalities.
But interestingly, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma who is known for his controversial Twitter posts and statements brings his upcoming film ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’. And the trailer was released at the same time when Krish’s NTR was released.
The upcoming film created controversy because of its subject.
It is said that downfall of NTR in politics occurred due to his marriage with much younger Lakshmi Parvathy. NTR’s family strongly opposed the marriage and never accepted Lakshmi.
Ram Gopal Verma’s movie supposedly depicts those portions from NTR’s life that raked up controversy after his marriage with writer Lakshmi Parvathi. Naidu staged a coup against the CM because he suspected that NTR was planning to hand over the reins of the party to his second wife Lakshmi Parvathi and that the party would have disintegrated under her rule.
Interestingly, Parvathi is now a member of the YSRCP and is aiming to contest against the TDP.
Ram Gopal Varma has given several hits in the past and is considered as a trendsetter. But the director, who has been churning out one flop after the other, says Lakshmi’s NTR would trace the events after NTR’s marriage to writer Lakshmi Parvathi, a decision that eventually led to his overthrow as the state’s CM.
Lakshmi’s NTR has not only irked the makers of the NTR movie but has also stirred up trouble with the Andhra Pradesh minister Chandrababu Naidu (NTR’s nephew), with RGV openly accusing the current CM of backstabbing NTR while the latter was the CM of the state.
Telugu Desam Party members have filed complaints to stop the film and it ended with RGV filing complaints against the complainants.
However, two trailers are released and it garnered praise from the audience and turned out to be the most anticipated film of there year.
