Saaho Movie Review: Prabhas starrer is an out and out action packed mass entertainer written all over it.

Modified On: 30 August 2019 | Reviewed By:

The film has well-choreographed high octane action sequences and breathtaking cinematography. The storyline of the film is a mixture of Dhoom and Bahubali with many disbelief scenes.

Saaho is the biggest example of a commercial mass-masala movie. It has a huge star cast, high-octane action sequences, beautiful locations, and tap beating songs but the story is somewhat simple and juvenile.

The story is about a million crore business empire which is in stake due to many baddies have an eye on it and we need a hero to save the empire.

The film starts with wide angles showing huge buildings and grim-looking men who are in no-nonsense mood for serious business. The narrative starts with a bank robbery and murder of the biggie who runs an empire and the antagonist Devraj (Chunkey Pandey) as an eye on it.

We are introduced to the protagonist Prabhas with a grand entry like the character of Murali Sharma says, his content is good but visuals are disturbing like a smoking ad before a feel-good film. Prabhas reputation of a huge star increased after the mammoth Bahubali and its significance is felt in the introduction shot. Prabhas is the police officer investigating the robbery held in Mumbai and Shraddha is another cop who accompanies him to accomplish the mission.

The first half of the movie ends with a heavy plot twist which will increase the curiosity of the audience before the twisted movie lags a bit.

The story gears up during the second half with a blend of breathtaking visuals and deadly action sequences. The climax fight sequences are surely clap-worthy and will surely increase the adrenaline rush among the audience.

The film has many flaws in the plot but director Sujeeth has many commercial ingredients to keep the audience in constant disbelief. It also has unnecessary songs and romantic track between Shraddha Kapoor and Prabhas looks lame.

Performance-wise Prabhas is good but still, you want more from the actor because of the high expectation from the actor after his successful film Bahubali. His dialogue delivery is also slow as if the actor is tired.

Shraddha Kapoor doesn't have much to do because of her half-baked written character. At the start of the film, Shraddha's character is introduced as a smart, efficient and fearless cop but like a usual Telugu film female lead, she also becomes a device to support the heroism of the protagonist.

Saaho has an ample number of villain but Chunkey Pandey as Devraj stands out his performance is noticeable rest all are mere caricatures. Though Mandira Bedi's character was also somewhat interesting.

As told earlier the highlight of the film is definitely the action sequences and breathtaking visuals, full marks for the technical team. The background score of Ghibran is highly praiseworthy.

Overall, 'Saaho' is quite the potboiler that fires in all directions in an attempt to entertain the audience. The film surely entertains you and it's a sure shot paisa vasool for the audience. And Prabhas movie ends with a cliff hanger which can give hope for Prabhas' die-hard fans for a sequel.
