Ram Pothineni's upcoming film Double iSmart has seized the Independence Day release slot following the exit of Pushpa 2: The Rule, with its shooting nearing completion.

With Pushpa 2: The Rule stepping back from the Independence Day slot, Ram Pothineni's Double iSmart swiftly filled the gap, nearing completion of its shooting schedule. This strategic slot includes a Thursday holiday (August 15), followed by a weekend and another holiday on Monday (Raksha Bandhan), amplifying its box office potential. Consequently, two more contenders have entered the fray.

On the same day, two modestly budgeted films, Aay and 35 – Chinna Katha Kaadu, have announced their release dates. Aay, produced by GA2 Pictures, stars Narne Nithiin, recently celebrated for his success in Mad. Meanwhile, 35 – Chinna Katha Kaadu features Nivetha Thomas and Priyadarshi in prominent roles.

These films will compete directly with Double iSmart on August 15, 2024, marking a competitive showdown at the box office.
