Prabhas wishes Deepika Padukone on her 35th birthday

Deepika Padukone is celebrating her 35th birthday today. On a special day, Telugu superstar Prabhas took to his Instagram story to wish Deepika a very happy birthday. The Baahubali star will be sharing screen space with Deepika Padukone in his upcoming film with director Nag Ashwin. The project is likely to go on floors in the second half of 2021.

Prabhas shared an adorable picture of Deepika Padukone and called her a gorgeous superstar. He wrote, "Happy Birthday to the Gorgeous Superstar Deepika Padukone (sic)." 

Within a few minutes, Prabhas's fans flooded social media with birthday greetings. The hashtag #HBDDeepikaPadukone has been trending since morning. 

In July, the makers of Prabhas's 21st film revealed that Deepika Padukone has been roped in to play the female lead. The production house released a video with the words, "Throughout the years, we have had the privilege to work with some extraordinary women. Now, with pride, we welcome Deepika Padukone on to our 50-year journey. Bringing together India's biggest Superstars." 

In a statement, director Nag Ashwin said, "I'm very excited to see Deepika play this character. It is something no mainstream lead has done before and will be quite a surprise for everyone. The pairing of Deepika and Prabhas will be one of the main highlights of the film and the story between them, I believe something audiences will carry in their hearts for years to come." 

Meanwhile, birthday girl Deepika will be working with Shah Rukh Khan once again in a film titled Pathan. It also features John Abraham in a pivotal role. She is also a part of Shakun Batra's next film.
