Prabhas is preparing for his next film, tentatively titled "Fauji," following the success of his pan-India blockbuster "Kalki 2898 AD." Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, this film has been generating buzz due to updates on its casting.
While Prabhas is confirmed to play the male lead, there has been much speculation regarding the female lead. Initially, Mrunal Thakur was rumored to be cast in the role. However, recent reports suggest that Pakistani actress Sajal Aly might be selected for the part. Although there hasn't been an official confirmation yet, this possibility has sparked excitement among fans.
"Fauji" is expected to be a grand period action drama with a unique love story at its core. It is rumored that Prabhas may portray a British soldier, fitting the historical setting of the film and the choice of casting a pan-Asian actress like Sajal Aly.
Production for "Fauji" is scheduled to begin in September, with a substantial budget allocated to the project. Pre-production activities are already underway, including the construction of elaborate sets around Hyderabad. The musical score is being composed by Vishal Chandrashekhar, with three songs recorded so far, adding to the anticipation for the film.
Sajal Aly, who made her Indian film debut with Sridevi’s "Mom" in 2018, has a strong fan base and significant international appeal, despite not actively pursuing projects in India since then.
