Moving from television to significant roles in Marathi and Hindi films, Mrunal Thakur has now risen as one of the top actresses in Telugu cinema. Her performances in Sita Ramam and Hi Nanna garnered immense popularity among Telugu audiences. Partnering with Vijay Deverakonda in Family Star, Mrunal Thakur expressed her gratitude towards Telugu audiences during the pre-release event. She graciously bowed down on stage, acknowledging the affection and support received from the Telugu audience, affectionately referring to herself as their 'Telugu Ammayi' (Telugu sister). 

Emphasizing her fondness for the character 'Indhu' in Family Star, Mrunal Thakur expressed confidence that the role was perfectly suited for her, asserting that no one else could embody Indhu like her. While providing a brief description of Vijay's character in "Family Star", she exclaimed, "Thikka untadi, Pichhi untadi.. Verri untadi" (He's fiery, he's intense, he's passionate), captivating the audience with her gestures and fluent Telugu, which elicited enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.
