Devara Plot:
Set in the coastal village of Ratnagiri, near the Red Sea, the movie tells the story of Devara (Jr. NTR), Bhaira (Saif Ali Khan), Rayappa (Srikanth), and other important leaders. They help a powerful man, Muruga (Murali Sharma), with smuggling goods from ships. Devara realizes that what they are doing is wrong, but Bhaira disagrees and plots to kill him.
In a surprising twist, Devara disappears, and twelve years later, Bhaira is in control of Ratnagiri, still trying to find Devara. Meanwhile, Vara, Devara’s innocent son, ends up teaming up with Bhaira. Why does Vara join forces with his father’s enemy? Is he going against what Devara stood for? Does he have any bad feelings about his father?
The film raises intriguing questions: Where is Devara, and does he still exist? Has Bhaira succeeded in tracking him down? What drives Bhaira’s determination to kill Devara? These puzzles are explored as the story unfolds.
Devara Movie Review:
Devara, directed by Koratala Siva, is a film that promises grandeur but falls short of delivering a truly captivating experience. While it sets the stage with impressive action sequences and an epic atmosphere, the overall execution lacks the depth and consistency to meet audience expectations.
The movie’s first half sets an intriguing stage with powerful action and intensity, especially bolstered by Jr. NTR’s fiery performance and Anirudh’s electrifying background score. Jr. NTR carries the film with his unmatched energy, making his character the undeniable highlight of the movie. Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist Bhaira looks promising but unfortunately has limited scope to truly shine, leaving the audience wanting more from his role.

However, the second half loses steam, feeling drawn out and repetitive, with the story lacking depth. While the climax teases more to come, it feels rushed and somewhat anticlimactic, leaving much to be desired in terms of emotional resonance.
On the technical side, while the action choreography and cinematography are commendable, the visual effects feel underwhelming for a movie of this scale. Anirudh’s BGM is undoubtedly the film’s strongest aspect, adding much-needed energy to the scenes. The music lifts the action, but even that can’t entirely mask the issues in pacing and weak writing.
Overall, Devara provides a decent theatrical experience, especially for Jr. NTR fans, but fails to reach the heights it aimed for. It’s a film that entertains in parts but leaves you wishing for a more engaging and polished final product.
Verdict: Watch it for Jr. NTR’s powerful performance and the adrenaline-pumping action, but lower your expectations for the story.
