Allu Arjun’s visit to Kuntala Falls runs into controversy, RTI petition filed to seek a reason for visit
The noise surrounding Allu Arjun’s recent visit to Kuntala Falls in Neradigonda Town of Adilabad seem to be amplifying further as an RTI has now been filed seeking reason for the visit.
After District Forest Officer Dr B Prabhakar stated that all tourist places are officially closed, with sign boards announcing the same put up, an RTI has now been filed at Neradigonda Police Station seeking the purpose of the Pushpa star’s visit when it’s closed to tourists.
Last week, pictures of Allu Arjun visiting Adilabad surfaced when fans spotted his vehicle, thronging him for selfies. Pictures and videos of the same went viral on social media, with many wondering how responsible the visit was, seeing as how none of the fans were following social distancing norms.
Talking to Hyderabad Times about the petition, Neradigonda SI, Bharat Suman said, “An RTI activist named Raju has filed a petition about Allu Arjun’s visit. Forest officials have already taken up the issue and even we are conducting an inquiry. As the government has granted permissions for shooting, they are allowed to shoot if that’s what they were doing. But we were not informed about any shoot taking place in the area either. It was also said that he was on a recce for scouting locations for the film, but that also needs to be verified.”
Talking to us, Adilabad DFO Dr B Prabhakar had also claimed the same. “We have no information about his visit to Kuntala Falls. Signboards are in place informing that it is closed for tourists due to the pandemic. While he’s not the first one to flout norms and do so, he should have been little responsible when visiting tourist places at this time.”
