The actor's arrest sparks legal and emotional developments as the victim's family considers withdrawing their complaint.

Tollywood superstar Allu Arjun has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody in connection with the tragic stampede at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, which claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman named Revathi. The incident occurred on December 4 during the release of Pushpa 2, drawing massive crowds eager to catch a glimpse of the actor.

In response to the criminal case filed against him, Allu Arjun approached the Telangana High Court, seeking the quashing of the charges. Despite his legal plea, the actor was taken into police custody on December 13 as part of the ongoing investigation.

The case took an unexpected turn when Revathi's husband, Bhaskar, expressed his willingness to withdraw the complaint. "I am ready to withdraw the case. I was not aware of the arrest, and Allu Arjun has nothing to do with the stampede in which my wife passed away," Bhaskar told reporters.

The legal proceedings saw intense arguments on Friday. Public Prosecutor objections delayed the lunch motion hearing, typically scheduled for mornings. Justice Sridevi of the Telangana High Court finally agreed to address the matter after 4 PM. Allu Arjun’s legal counsel, senior advocate S. Niranjan Reddy, assured the court that valid reasons would be presented during the hearing.

Meanwhile, three individuals, including the co-owner of the theatre, the senior manager, and the lower balcony in-charge, have already been arrested. The Hyderabad Police filed cases against the actor, his security team, and theatre management under sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), based on a complaint by the victim's family.

The stampede, which also left Revathi’s eight-year-old son critically injured, has sparked widespread debates over crowd management and accountability during high-profile events. As legal proceedings continue, the incident has cast a shadow over the actor's celebrations for Pushpa 2’s success.

This development also triggered a political stir, with several leaders voicing opinions on the fairness of the legal treatment meted out to the star. Fans and the film fraternity remain divided, awaiting the next steps in this high-profile case.
