Akhanda Teaser: Balakrishna in Aghori avatar

On the occasion of Ugadi, the title of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s upcoming actioner with director Boyapati Sreenu is out and keeping all the speculations aside, the film is titled Akhanda. 

A 1-minute teaser has also been unveiled much to the delight of fans and it features Balayya Babu showing his flamboyant avatar as an Aghori and stealing the show with his powerful dialogue and roaring screen presence. With a thumping background score by SS Thaman, a glimpse of the action sequence that takes in Lord Shiva’s temple under the rocks is also shown in the promo.

Starring Pragya Jaiswal as the leading lady and Srikanth Meka as the antagonist, the shooting of Akhanda is on the verge of completion. Recently, the makers have shot high-octane action sequences involving Balakrishna and the principal cast at the Dandeli forest in Karnataka. Stunt choreographer Siva Kumar has composed the action for this episode and with the majority of the shoot done, a few days of patchwork will be wrapped up in Hyderabad. Former heroine Poorna is essaying a crucial role in this film.

While Sayyeshaa Saigal has been initially confirmed to romance the senior hero in the film, she was replaced by the Jabalpur bombshell Pragya Jaiswal due to unknown reasons. The film marks the coming together of Balayya and Boyapati after two blockbusters Simha and Legend. Bankrolled by Miryala Ravinder Reddy, the music of the film is composed by SS Thaman with C Ram Prasad as the cinematographer and M Ratnam as the dialogue writer.

Slated for a worldwide release on May 28, the first look teaser introduced the Nandamuri scion as a powerful personality in a rural place. He worked out and toned down his body for the dual avatar in Akhanda.
