The original was released in 2013 starring Dulquer Salman.
ABCD (American Born Confused Desi) is an official remake of the 2013 sleeper hit Malayalam movie with the same name.
The plot of the film is about a rich spoiled brat who is not too serious with his life, stays with his parents in America.
Due to circumstances forced to come to India and to stay in India with restricting pocket money from his parents.
His struggles and meeting expenses in a day to day life with a lot of twist and turn is the crux of the film.
The Trailer of this film also shows the above mentioned summarised plot of the film.
But it seems as if the plot and the premise of the film are filtered to cater to Telugu audience.
The main difference between both the versions are its portrayal of the female protagonist.
In the original, the female lead was portrayed by Apna Gopinath who was a bold, short-haired, tomboyish, and social activist. And for a difference, both leads of the film didn’t have a love relationship.
But the Telugu version female lead, Rukshar, is different from the original lead and seems to be the love interest of Allu Sirish’s character.
The original also showed political scenarios of Kerala in a satirical way which can be seen in the glimpse of Telugu trailer.
The makers are claiming that this film will be different from the original.
