Salaar Receives 'A' Certification: Creators Pledge an 'Intense Action Drama'

The upcoming action drama Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire, featuring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, has received an 'A' certificate from the Censor Board of Film Certification. Hombale Films, the production house behind the film, shared the news on X (formerly Twitter) and encouraged fans to brace themselves for an "intense action drama." The Prashanth Neel-directed film is set to hit theaters on December 22.

Prabhas' Salaar is highly anticipated in 2023 and is slated to clash with Shah Rukh Khan's forthcoming film, Dunki, scheduled for release on December 21.

On December 11, Hombale Films announced the 'A' certification for Salaar, attributing it to the film's intense violence. The production house shared the news, stating, "Censor done for #SalaarCeaseFire. Get ready for an intense ‘A’ction drama in cinemas from December 22nd."

Salaar is an action-packed drama presented in two parts, with the first installment, titled Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire, set to premiere in multiple languages on December 22. Directed and written by Prashanth Neel, the film stars Prabhas and Prithviraj as Deva/Salaar and Varadha Rajamannar. The cast also includes Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Sriya Reddy, Bobby Simhaa, and Tinnu Anand in supporting roles.
