Thambi Trailer: Karthi and Jyothika shares the screen for the first time in this thriller.

The trailer shows a prodigal son, Saravanan (played by Karthi) who returns home after a long gap of 15 years. Sathyaraj plays the role of his father and Jyotika his elder sister. Though the parents are convinced that their son has returned, Jyotika, her grandmother and many others in the family are not too convinced about the identity of Saravanan. What follows is a mix of laughter, action, and suspense, with Saravanan also shown entering politics.

The trailer also has Anson Paul playing the role of a police officer and Nikhila Vimal playing the role of Sanjana, Saravanan’s childhood friend. The movie marks the debut in Tamil for both the Malayalam actors.

Thambi is director Jeethu Joseph’s second film in Tamil after Papanasam. Rensil D’Silva and Manikandan have written the script while the technical crew of this film comprises of Govind Vasantha for music and RD Rajasekar for cinematography. The film is jointly bankrolled by Viacom 18 and Parallel Minds Productions.
