Susienthiran's 'Valli Mayil' will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi

The film stars Vijay Antony, Sathyaraj and Bharathirajaa in the lead. “Faria Abdullah is playing the titular role. She is a street artiste in the film, someone who is part of dramas like Valli Thirumanam. The story traces the incidents that happen in her life,” says the director, adding, “Vijay Antony is playing a cop. Though he has done cop roles before, this has been a new experience for him. Kani Thiru and GP Muthu are also playing important roles in the film, along with Tollywood actor Sunil.”

The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. “I’m making it in multiple languages because the script is universal. Some stories have no language restrictions and can be enjoyed by audiences across the country. The story is based on a real incident and has that kind of appeal.”

The director says that they have put a lot of effort to recreate the 80s time period. “We’ve put up sets of a press, political party office, the neighbourhood where street artistes live, and markets. In the 80s, mud roads were the norm. So, we have to put up mannu roads wherever we are keeping the shot,” he laughs.

The team has already shot for about 20 days. “We will be starting the next schedule from July 15 and will film in Pollachi, Gobichettipalayam and Kodaikanal for 30 days. And then, we have a 20-day schedule in Delhi,” tells the director.
