Release Date Announced for Karthik Subbaraj's "Jigarthanda Double X"

After the action-drama film "Mahaan" faced challenges in securing a theatrical release, filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj sought to create a sequel to one of his most successful movies, "Jigarthanda." Titled "Jigarthanda Double X," this prequel features Raghava Lawrence and S J Suryah in prominent roles. The teaser for the film presented a Western vibe, with Lawrence donning a cowboy look. It has now been announced that "Jigarthanda Double X" will hit the screens during Diwali 2023, releasing in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi languages.

Director Karthik Subbaraj expressed his satisfaction with the release date, stating, "I am happy that we have been able to lock Diwali 2023 as the release date for Jigarthanda Double X. It's an ambitious project considering the love received by its predecessor, 'Jigarthanda.' I am confident that this film will be a worthy successor to its prequel."

Kaarthekeyen Santhanam, producer at Stone Bench Films, which is financing "Jigarthanda Double X," shared his excitement about the project. He said, "The announcement of Jigarthanda Double X going on floors had generated immense curiosity and excitement owing to the success of 'Jigarthanda' and the love the prequel had generated. I am extremely happy that we can proudly say that 'Jigarthanda Double X,' a mass entertainer that people are looking forward to, will be releasing this Diwali in three languages."
