On Tuesday, the legendary Superstar Rajinikanth took a stroll down memory lane by visiting the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus depot in the city where he once served as a bus conductor.

Rajinikanth revisited the bus depot where he initially embarked on his professional journey. The 72-year-old iconic actor's surprise appearance brought immense delight to BMTC drivers, conductors, and other staff at the Jayanagar bus stand.

During his interaction, Rajinikanth engaged in conversations and shared moments with the staff, including posing for selfies. This unexpected visit was met with warm greetings from the Traffic Transit Management Center (TTMC) staff of BMTC.

His connection to the city runs deep, as Rajinikanth, then known as Shivaji Rao Gaikwad, worked as a bus conductor before being discovered by the legendary Tamil director, the late K Balachander. The director not only named him Rajinikanth but also provided him with his first break in the successful film 'Aboorva Ragangal' in 1975, alongside Kamal Haasan and others.

Additionally, Rajinikanth also made a visit to the Raghavendra Swami Math during his time in the city. He had portrayed the titular role in the biographical film 'Sri Raghavendrar,' depicting the life of the 16th-17th century saint-poet of Madhva Sampradaya of Dvaita Vedanta philosophy.

Sources indicate that Rajinikanth spent his formative years in Bengaluru, residing there until the age of 22, when he moved to Chennai to pursue his film career. Prior to this transition, he had worked as a conductor in the then Bangalore Transport Services (BTS), now recognized as BMTC.

Rajinikanth's return to the silver screen after nearly two years with the movie 'Jailer,' directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and released earlier this month, has been met with success at the box office.
