Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagaraj join forces for an upcoming action-thriller titled 'Thalaivar 171'.

Following the success of 'Jailer,' Rajinikanth is set to collaborate with director Lokesh Kanagaraj for his 171st project. Sun Pictures will produce 'Thalaivar 171,' featuring music by Anirudh Ravichandran and action sequences by Anbariv. The remaining cast and crew details will be announced soon.

Before joining forces with Lokesh, Rajinikanth will work with director TJ Gnanavel on a film tentatively titled 'Thalaivar 170,' produced by Lyca Productions.

In the meantime, Lokesh is eagerly awaiting the release of his action film 'Leo' in October, starring Vijay, Trisha, and Sanjay Dutt, among others. There are speculations that 'Leo' might be part of the same universe as Lokesh's previous films 'Kaithi' and 'Vikram.' This marks Lokesh and Vijay's second collaboration after their successful partnership in 'Master.'
