Ponniyin Selvan new poster: Mani Ratnam's epic to be release in two parts

Mani Ratnam’s period drama Ponniyin Selvan poster is been on Monday, July 19. Ponniyin Selvan will be made in two parts and will hit the theatres in 2022. Touted to be one of the most ambitious projects of Mani Ratnam, the film stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Ashwin Kakumanu in pivotal roles.

The new poster depicts the golden era coming back to life. The film is based on the Tamil novel of the same name, written by Kalki Krishnamoorthy. In a lot of interviews, the director has revealed that it has been his dream to adapt the book into film since he first read the book.

Sharing the new poster, the makers wrote, “The golden era comes to life! #PonniyinSelvan #PS1 #ManiRatnam @MadrasTalkies_ (sic).”

Directed by Mani Ratnam, Ponniyin Selvan narrates the story of Arulmozhi Varman and the Chola dynasty. It has an ensemble cast that includes Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Ashwin Kakumanu in pivotal roles. The music of the film has been composed by AR Rahman. The cast and crew of the film will soon jet off to Hyderabad for a month-long schedule.
