Mani Ratnam’s films are always different and iconic: Aishwarya Rai

Mani Ratnam's ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is all set to release in theatres on September 30. Featuring Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, and Trisha in the lead roles, the film is an adaptation of the novel which is a historic epic drama that happened in the 9th century AD.

With the film’s promotion in full swing, the actors and actresses are on a promotional tour throughout India. Speaking at the event in Delhi on September 27, the entire cast of the film praised Mani Ratnam for his passion and dedication and said that they look up to him for inspiration and learning.

The lead actors and actress revealed that the director gives them a lot of space and chance to explore their character. Actress Aishwarya Rai said that Mani Ratnam’s film has always been so different and iconic.

Actor Vikram also praised Mani Ratnam for his directing style. He said that he has always been happy to work with a filmmaker like Mani Ratnam. He added that many call him the Steven Spielberg of India as he hits the bull’s eye every time with his films.
