Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam's 'Thug Life' enters the post-production stage

Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam have reunited after 35 years for the much-anticipated film Thug Life, marking their collaboration after the iconic Nayakan (1987). The shooting for this mega-budget film began in January and has now successfully wrapped up.

The announcement of the shoot's completion was made through a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video, showcasing the hard work and camaraderie of the cast and crew. Both Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam credited each other for the project, and the team celebrated the milestone with a small on-set gathering.

Thug Life is reported to be a period gangster drama with Kamal Haasan playing multiple roles. The ensemble cast also includes Silambarasan, Trisha, Joju George, Gautham Karthik, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Nassar, and Abhiram. A.R. Rahman is composing the music, and Ravi K. Chandran is handling the cinematography.

The film was initially slated for a December 2024 release, but an official confirmation on the release date is still awaited.
