‘Kaappaan’ Teaser: Suriya in an action-packed film

In the first 10 seconds of the teaser, Suriya appears in different get-ups. It seems that his character might be an undercover spy or a vigilante.

Undercover spy, because the character of Mohanlal whose look is inspired from Narendra Modi is the chief minister and tries to protect the state from terrorism, so it might be possible that Suriya is his undercover agent.

The character might be a vigilante as Surya tries to question the govt. about the atrocities occurring to the poor. Kaappaan which literally means Protector.

Even one of the character questions Suriya for questioning like a Naxalite.

The film will be based on the life of Captain Gopinath of Air Deccan.

Actor Arya's character, without giving much away, does a brief appearance in the teaser.

Director KV Anand is associating with Suriya for the third time with their first two films being Ayan and Maattraan.

The film has been scripted jointly by director KV Anand and veteran writer Pattukottai Prabhakar with the former wielding the megaphone for it. Kaappaan is being bankrolled by A Subashkaran on a huge budget under his banner Lyca Productions.
