Cobra New Poster: Irfan Pathan introduced as Aslan Yilmaz

Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan turned 36 on October 27. On his birthday, director Ajay Gnanamuthu took to social media to share the character look from his upcoming film, Cobra. Starring Chiyaan Vikram, Cobra marks Irfan Pathan's acting debut. The makers also revealed that Irfan's character name is Aslan Yilmaz.

Irfan Pathan is all set to make his acting debut in Kollywood with Chiyaan Vikram's Cobra. Earlier, director Ajay Gnanamuthu revealed that Irfan plays a stylish villain opposite Vikram in the film. 

On Irfan's 36th birthday, Ajay Gnanamuthu revealed his character look poster and wrote, "Wish you many more happy returns of the day dear @IrfanPathan sir. Super happy to have met and worked with such a warm and a caring person like you.. Wishing you only the besttt in the year ahead (sic)."

In the poster, Irfan Pathan is dressed in a black suit and looks stylish. He will be seen playing the role of French Interpol officer Aslan Yilmaz in Cobra. 

Back in March, the team of Cobra headed to Russia to shoot some important sequences. However, they were forced to return to India due to the travel ban imposed by the government to curb the novel coronavirus pandemic. 

Director Ajay Gnanamuthu had earlier said that the rest of the portions had to be shot in Russia. It is unclear if the team would erect a set resembling Russia in Chennai to complete the shoot. 

According to reports, Vikram will be seen in more than 20 looks in Cobra. The shooting of Cobra is expected to be wrapped up by the end of the year. Apart from Vikram and Irfan, Cobra stars KS Ravikumar, Srinidhi Shetty, Mrinalini, Kanika, Padmapriya and Babu Antony.
