Dhanush’s Asuran was recently screened at the Indian Panorama section of the International Film Festival of India and at the 78th Golden Globes Awards.
Asuran is based on the popular Tamil novel Vekkai written by Poomani. It is a blood-soaked revenge story of a father, a farmer, who avenges the ruthless murder of his son. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Vetri Maaran, the film featured Dhanush in dual roles.
The film is being remade in Telugu with Venkatesh Daggubati in the lead role. The first look poster and the teaser of the film was a huge hit.
