The reason is supposed to be the financial issue, there is no announcement on the film’s release date yet from the producers.

Amala Paul’s most awaited Aadai has been canceled just hours before its release. Theatres have canceled the shows on Friday due to non-receipt of the KDM and are either refunding tickets or offering an alternative to those who’ve booked their tickets. Aadai seems to be embroiled in a financial tussle, a common reason for last-minute cancellations in Tamil cinema.

Aadai, censored A, was scheduled to hit the screens on Friday. The film is directed by Rathna Kumar and its Telugu dubbed version was to release in Andhra and Telangana regions considering the huge popularity that Amala Paul enjoys there.

Aadai was supposed to be a game-changer for Tamil Cinema and fans of Amala Paul was eagerly waiting for the film due to its created hype.

Quite recently Vijay Sethupathi’s Sindhubaadh too faced a similar problem. An ongoing spat between the film’s producer and a Hyderabad based production house resulted in a High court petition that stayed the film’s release until dues were settled. The Hyderabad HC had ordered a stay on the release of the film over after Arka Media Works, the makers of Baahubali, had filed a case against the producers of Sindhubaadh over unpaid dues. After much negotiation, the film released on June 27.

Vishal’s Ayogya, scheduled to release on May 10, was canceled on the day of its release. The film, after much negotiations, released the next day.
