The second remake of the Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy, Adithya Varma will hit the screen on November 8.
The official trailer of Adithya Varma, the Tamil remake of the Telugu hit Arjun Reddy, was released on Tuesday. Arjun Reddy, as well as the Hindi remake Kabir Singh, were heavily criticized for glorifying toxic masculinity and violence against women. However, the Tamil version appears to be a faithful remake of the original.
October fame Banita will be making her Tamil debut in this film as Meera. Ravi K Chandran has done the film’s cinematography while Vivek Harshan has edited the final output. Radhan, who originally did the music for Arjun Reddy and Bala's version has been retained as the music director for this version of remake too.
The remake of this film was originally done by director Bala and was titled Varmaa. However, it was later scrapped after the makers were unhappy with the output. In a statement, Bala had revealed that it was his decision to leave the project and denied allegations made by the producers. “I am forced to release this explanation, due to the false statement from the producer of Varmaa. In order to safeguard creative freedom, it was my own decision to relieve myself from the project. Considering Dhruv Vikram’s future, I would like to end this here,” he said.
Adithya Varma has been bankrolled by E4 Entertainment, producers of popular Malayalam films such as Ezra and Godha.
The film will hit the screens on November 8.
