Thalapathy Vijay Faces Legal Consequences as a Case is Lodged Against the Actor Under the Narcotics Control Act

Thalapathy Vijay's recent song "Naa Ready" from the upcoming film Leo has stirred controversy due to its promotion of tobacco consumption. The song features the actor dancing with cigarettes in his mouth, sparking criticism from various quarters. As a result, a case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act.

The backlash against Thalapathy Vijay stems from the portrayal of smoking and the promotion of alcohol in the song "Naa Ready." Critics have accused the actor of hypocrisy, as he recently emphasized the importance of maintaining good character in a speech to students. They argue that while he urged students to uphold moral values, his song seemed to promote unhealthy habits on screen. However, Vijay's loyal fans have defended him, stating that his actions in films are purely for entertainment purposes and should not be emulated in real life.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Leo stars Trisha Krishnan as the female lead opposite Vijay, marking their reunion after a gap of 14 years. Sanjay Dutt plays the antagonist and also portrays Vijay's father in the film. The star-studded cast includes Gautham Vasudev Menon, Arjun Sarja, Mysskin, Priya Anand, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mathew Thomas, and others in supporting roles. The theatrical release of Leo is scheduled for October 19, 2023.
